Philadelphia Museum of Art

In the over 125 years since its founding, it has grown far beyond the limits orginally set for it. Today the museum houses over 225,000 works of art encompassing some of the greatest achievements of human creativity.
Echoing the design of a Greek temple but of a more massive Roman proportion, the museum was one of the crowning achievements of the "city beautiful" movement in architecture in the early part of the 20 th century.
It is constructed of pure Minnesota dolomite with glazed blue roof tiles and embellished with polychrome finials and pediments. Covering over 10 acres it contains over 200 galleries.

I recently attended the Cezanne exhibition, it was brilliant!
